What is it?
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) refers to excessive sweating in the underarms or on the palms of hands or soles of feet. It can range from a mild annoyance to a constant interference.
How do we treat it?
Hyperhidrosis may be treated with topical or oral antiperspirants (over-the-counter or prescription-strength). A treatment involving mild electrical current (iontophoresis) may be employed, or Botox injections or (when need is determined) a referral for surgery.
