What is it?
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder that is often inherited. It causes thick, red skin with scaly or flaky patches. Dr. Long will diagnose the specific type of psoriasis and prescribe treatment accordingly.
Eczema causes inflamed, itchy rashes that can be minor or severe and can become infected. The condition may be associated with asthma, nasal or food allergies.
Neither condition is contagious.
How do we treat it?
- Topical treatments including ointments, sprays and shampoos
- Pills or injections including biologic response modifiers
- Phototherapy light treatments (available onsite in our office)
- Skin-directed therapies including gentle cleansers, emollients including barrier repair agents, and topical steroids.
